Why We Live in an RV
When we get asked this question, we often respond with "Because we can!" Tongue in cheek really. But honestly, last October God challenged me to take a look around at our life. It was perfect. The house. The acreage. The pool. The picturesque pond.. complete with water fountain. The kids. The husband. The friends. The community. The daily schedule. The stuff. The stuff... oh yes and the more stuff. We painted the picture ourselves. We dreamed of the exact life we were living since the day we got married. Literally, I remember talking about it on our honeymoon. And then God so graciously and lovingly, gave it all to us.
So why did I feel like I was suffocating? I could breath a bit more since Jason had left his 15 year career with Deere. But there was still something tugging me to really look. So we did. And honestly the proposal of what life could look like if we simply said 'See ya society! We'll catch ya on the flip-side', scared the living daylights out of us... Ok. Mostly me. Not ever a year earlier Jason had hinted toward a life similar to Full-time RV Living and my response was.. What about me screams RV to you? I am not your 'typical' image of what my friends lovingly call Gypsy Living.
But what I have found in my small numbers of years on this earth is when I say 'No way! Couldn't ever do that!' God kinda seems to giggle and says.. Watch this. ;-)
The story isn't finished and we are constantly daily learning. But so far, oh my land, the clarity of walking in faith is oh so good.
