Engaging Kids in Physical Activity
I grew up in an extremely active home. I mean, my mom is a retired Elementary PE Teacher... so yea. We didn't sit around a lot in our family. As a child, if we couldn't find mom around the house, we always knew where she was.... On a run. This pretty much remains the same even today.
With that influence you can see why fitness... or maybe more so simply getting the endorphins running... is just build into my DNA. With any kind of opportunity possible I am fully aware of involving my kids in fitness. And if you don't want to call it fitness, movement of any kind. My heart swells with a little pride when I hear Savi {2} say the words, "Mommy? You go do 'crop-pit'?" And that Ella {9} knows a good squat clean when she sees one. Not to mention Jaden {7} string together a few box jumps... Kinda jealous of that honestly.
I also know that what it means {especially for my girls} to see their Mama as a strong, able and driven chick. When they know I can do pull-ups and climb a rope, there is zero question that even if they can't today, some day they will do the same.
